Pediatric Signs & Symptoms of Foot Problems

Many children experience foot problems while growing up. Here are the five signs and symptoms to be able to detect various issues going on underneath the shoes:
  1. If your child cannot keep up with his or her peers. Children are known to be very active and lagging behind could mean problems with feet and legs- mainly when children have flatfeet.
  2. If your child refrains from activities they normally enjoy. This could potentially be because of heel pain. This kind of heel pain most commonly occurs between the ages of 8 and 14
  3. If your child does not want to show you their feet. If the nails or feet appear like they are changing or their is some kind of pain, the children may not want to show their parents. This could be for many different reasons such as, calluses, warts, fungus, and ingrown toenails.
  4. If your child often trips over objects or falls frequently. This could be due to balance problems, in-toeing or other conditions that needed to be treated by a doctor.
  5. If your child complains frequently of foot pain. This is never normal for your child. Injuries may seem minor, but if swelling lasts more than a few days, have your child's foot examined.
No matter what, if your child is complaining about any kind of foot problems, he or she needs to see a podiatrist. To find out more information about pediatric foot problems, visit our website at www.neufoot.com
